Darwin City Photo Walk – Saturday 28 March Grab your camera, your curiosity, and your sense of adventure — we’re heading out for an afternoon of relaxed shooting and good company. 🕓 Meet: 4:00pm at Raintree Park (Raintree Park is situated on the Knuckey Street end of the Smith Street Mall). We’ll kick things off with a wander through the city, exploring light, colour, street art and whatever surprises Darwin offers up. 🍜 Dinner Option: 6:00pm at Chow, Darwin Waterfront Join us for a casual meal and a chance to chat, compare shots, and refuel before the evening session. 🌅 Evening & Sunset Shoot: After dinner, we’ll stay around the Waterfront to capture golden hour, sunset, and the vibrant night atmosphere. All skill levels welcome — whether you’re shooting on a DSLR, mirrorless, phone, or anything in between. Come for the whole walk or just the parts that suit you.

All skill levels welcome—bring your camera, a hat, water, and your creative eye. Feel free to invite friends or family who might like to join in. Looking forward to a great morning of shooting together!

Volunteers wanted! Hello Darwin Camera Club (DCC) Members, We are seeking helpers for the DCC exhibit at the Defence Member and Family Support (DMFS) “Welcome to the Top End” Expo in 2026. This event is designed to showcase to ADF members and their families the range of Government agencies, community services, sporting groups, hobbies and activities available in the Darwin, Palmerston and Katherine regions. The event is intended to be informative and provide a fun environment and outing for ADF members and their families. We are looking for 3-4 people per time slot. If you are available and willing to help at the exhibit, please let us know what time you can assist by selecting the following 1 or both of the following time options: - 8:30am - 11:00am - 11:00am - 1:30pm Please note, this is not a 'ticket' to the event, this will help up develop a supervision schedule for the DCC expo site. This is the last event on the Darwin Camera Club 2025 calendar. 🎨 Light Painting Workshop – October Activity Join us for a creative and illuminating evening of light painting! At our October 1st club meeting, we’ll introduce the fascinating art of light painting—where long exposure photography meets playful creativity with light. Learn the techniques, see inspiring examples, and get tips on how to create your own stunning images using torches, glow sticks, sparklers and other light sources. Then, put your new skills into practice at our hands-on light painting session at Casuarina Beach, starting at 6:30pm on Saturday, 18th October. Bring: your camera, tripod, headlight/torch, any light source you have and a sense of adventure as we experiment with light trails, shapes, and silhouettes against the beautiful evening backdrop. Whether you're new to light painting or looking to refine your technique, this is a fun and relaxed way to explore photography in a whole new light!
