Join Belinda Matheson from BFMmedia70 for a hands-on workshop featuring professional studio lighting, striking high-fashion wardrobe pieces, and a model. Experiment with creative lighting techniques, learn how light shapes mood and style, and capture bold, eye-catching images in a supportive, practical environment. Whether you're new to portrait photography or looking to expand your skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to try something different and stretch your creative boundaries. 📸 Exclusive members' visit to Louise Denton Photography Darwin Camera Club members are invited to a special behind-the-scenes visit to Louise Denton Photography workshop. This exclusive session will give members the opportunity to visit Louise's workshop, explore her gallery of images available for sale, and gain valuable insight into the professional side of photography. Louise will also share her framing process, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how images are prepared, presented, and displayed. It's a unique opportunity to learn about the journey from captured image to finished artwork. This private event has been arranged exclusively for Darwin Camera Club members and promises to be an inspiring and informative experience. A big thank you to Louise for generously opening her studio and sharing her knowledge with our club.

Paul is opening the Gallery for club members following the Corroboree Billabong Cruise. The WILDFOTO Gallery will be open to all club members and their guests, not just those attending the cruise. If you haven't visited the Gallery yet, this is the perfect opportunity. Come along to view Paul's photography, explore the Gallery, and enjoy everything the Gallery and Café have to offer. Join us for a laid-back 3–4 hour photo cruise aboard the ‘Maree’, one of the vessels from Corroboree Houseboats & Fishing Boats Hire, on the stunning Corroboree Billabong—a great spot for birds, wildlife, and classic Top End scenery. Maree is an extra-large, two-storey BBQ boat with plenty of space to shoot, plus a toilet on board for convenience. We’ll meet at the Corroboree Boat Ramp at 6:30am for a 7:00am departure, making the most of the morning light. There’ll be plenty of time to shoot at your own pace and swap tips along the way. A simple BBQ breakfast is included—bacon, eggs, sausages, fruit, plus tea, coffee, and juice. We’ll be back around 11:00am. For those interested, Paul Thomsen will open Wild Foto Gallery (2300 Arnhem Highway, Marrakai) for a visit after the cruise. The turn-off from the Arnhem Highway to Corroboree Billabong is on the left just 1 km past Corroboree Park Tavern (heading towards Kakadu). It is 20 km from the Arnhem Highway turnoff to the cruise at Corroboree Billabong, the last 2 km is on a well-maintained gravel road. Please allow enough time—especially with wildlife often on the road—or consider staying overnight at the Corroboree Park Tavern which is 20km from the Tavern to the Corroboree Houseboats (See map below).  What to bring Camera gear Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses Insect repellent Water bottle
